We looked at a few other venues quickly, but nothing even compared to Cafe Amelie. So, it was not a tough decision to marry "below sea level" at this amazing location, especially after looking at the proposal, menus, etc. We didn't even know when or where we were going to marry as we live in Denver! Originally we had wanted to marry in Aspen, but our older relatives said they wouldn’t come to the higher altitude. Immediately they brought us a wedding album with information and a sample proposal. We had brunch at Café Amelie the day after we got engaged and asked if they did weddings “just to ask for fun”. Cafe Amelie is one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans - the food, staff, and atmosphere is all wonderful.
